LIVE COMEDY, ARTS & CHARITY EVENTS
The Kings Head is famously associated with live comedy and theatre in Galway, both as a breeding ground for comedy talent and as a venue. In the early 1990s, it became home to The Flying Pig Theatre Company whose members included the world acclaimed comedian, Tommy Tiernan.
Today, The Kings Head is proud to be among the venues for the world-renowned Galway International Arts Festival, when it plays host annually to the Laughter Loft series of lunchtime comedy gigs, which has seen it host performances by leading acts such as Deirdre O’Kane, Colm O’Regan, Foil, Arms & Hogg among many others. In addition to the Galway International Arts Festival, The Kings Head is also an official venue for many more of Galway’s amazing festivals including Cúirt, Galway Sessions and Galway Comedy Festival among others. The Kings Head also acts as a venue for many charity events for local and national groups.
